We are excited about becoming a S.T.E.M school which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering,  and Mathematics. By the 2016-2017 school year we will be 75% science and/or mathematic endorsed. We have partnered with Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) for our S.T.E.M. initiative. Way to go Connally!!!!!
My students are required to visit and practice skills learned in the classroom as often as possible.
There are educational websites that may be helpful to student learning as well.

They are:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year. The second grade academy is geared up and ready for an exciting year of teaching and learning. My name is Assata Rameses-Paul and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I have been teaching for the past 14 years and all of my years have been spent teaching the children of E. L. Connally Elementary. It is my belief that it takes a village to raise a child and it is my hope that we can work together to raise some of the best and brightest children in the nation.

Since working at E. L. Connally I have worked on a number of initiatives and programs. I am so proud of the progress the school is making and look forward to even greater gains in this coming year.

I have a Master's of Science degree from Clark Atlanta University and a Bachelor's of Science degree from Saint John's University. I was born and raised in New York City. I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia 20+ years ago. I lived in Accra, Ghana for two years where I homeschooled my personal children. I am the former Communication Ambassador and Technology Liaison for Connally. It is my honor to teach and prepare my students for their educational future. I believe that all students can learn, develop and grow if given the environment, opportunity and tools for success. My motto is "Each One, Teach One, Each One, Reach One" which is an African proverb that promotes cooperative learning. I strongly believe that children learn from each other and must be taught with positive reinforcement. I believe that self-esteem is closely linked to student success. It truly takes a village to raise and educate a child. I am looking forward to meeting as well as knowing each student in my class and their parents.  This year will be one of rigorous expectations and a challenging learning environment which your child will reap the benefits for years to come. Just you wait and see!

If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the school at (404)-802-8450 or arpaul@atlanta.k12.ga.us. I welcome any support you can lend to making this year great for all of us!

 Sincerely,

Ms. Assata Rameses-Paul, M.S.
