At Morningside Elementary School, we believe every student has the potential to succeed, and we are dedicated to making a difference in their lives by encouraging them to open their minds to learning, discovery, and achievement.
Opened in 1929, Morningside is in the Grady Cluster
of the Atlanta Public School System. Morningside feeds into Inman Middle School and Grady High School. Our school mascot is the dolphin. Morningside Elementary School is located in the Morningside community and currently serves the neighborhoods of Morningside, Lenox Park, Sherwood Forest, Piedmont Heights, and Ansley Park.
In 2016, the U.S. Secretary of Education, John B. King, Jr., announced Morningside Elementary School as a National Blue Ribbon School
in the Exemplary High Performing Category. Morningside was most recently designated as a 2016 Green Ribbon School
for their commitment to sustainable practices and leadership in facilities, health, and environmental education.
Our mission is to nurture the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of each student while holding them to the highest academic standards. We recognize the uniqueness of each child and provide flexibility in our instructional program to address individual learning styles and maximize student achievement.
The vision of Morningside Elementary school is to develop high-performing, self-directed life-long learners and leaders who are successful and take responsibility for their own behavior and incorporate self-awareness for their personal impact on the community as a whole.
