New Tardy Lockout Policy to Take Effect Wednesday, Feb. 25
Attention Grady Community:
Please be advised, as of February 25, 2015, Grady High School will begin implementing a Tardy Lockout Program. Tardy lockouts will be conducted randomly on a daily basis. Teachers are to close their classroom doors after the tardy bell rings. Students should not be allowed in the classroom without a tardy pass during a sweep. Students who are caught during a tardy sweep will receive Wednesday Detention after school from 3:45-4:45pm.

Grady’s Senior Class of 2015 will celebrate “Visions of the Future” May 16, 2015, at 10 AM in the Historic Gymnasium.
Grady’s Graduation is Friday, May 22, 2015, at 3:00 PM.  (The procession will start at 2:50 PM.)

Seniors MUST pay senior fees in order to participate in Visions of the Future, Graduation and any end-of-year activities.  Payments (cash or money orders ONLY) will be accepted by Ms. Rhodes-Igherighe in the Main Office daily from 9:00-11:30am and from 3:30-3:45pm (except on Fridays). For a small handling fee, senior fees may be paid online via the Grady website. Create a username and password to make your payment. Remember to print confirmation and/or a receipt of your transaction.
For students who pay between November 8 and February 20, 2015, the total amount is $200.  For students who pay on or after February 21, 2015, the total amount is $210.

District Announcements

  • Due to the winter storm covering metro Atlanta, Atlanta Public Schools will remain closed today, February 26. APS annual employees (Employees who work 242 days.) should report at 11 a.m. APS advises employees to contact their supervisor if road conditions prohibit them from coming to work at this time.

    Also, all district activities including community meetings, regular season athletic-related events and activities, and afterschool events are cancelled for today.

    The GHSA State Quarterfinal basketball playoff game between South Atlanta High School and Morgan County High School will continue tonight as scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at South Atlanta High School.

    APS charter schools’ employees, parents and caregivers should contact their schools directly and monitor their websites and social media channels for updates.

  • Infinite Campus Parent and Student Portal

    CPP Login Page:

    Parents of students in grades K–12 have access to class schedules, attendance records and grades by Campus Portal for Parents (CPP) which is an easy-to-use, secure communications tool. Additionally, CPP enables parents to verify household information, including their email address, home address and telephone numbers.
    Contact your child’s school to get your CPP activation key. Parents are required to  request the CPP activation key in person. To ensure that all student information remains secure, parents must provide a valid photo ID (driver’s license, state ID card, or passport) before receiving the CPP activation key.  Once parents receive the activation key, they can visit to create a unique username and password.

  • The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords parents and students who are 18 years of age or older ("eligible students") certain rights with respect to the student's education records.  These rights include the right to provide written consent before the school discloses personally identifiable information (PII) from the student's education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without con­sent.

    One exception which permits disclosure without consent is disclosure to school officials with legitimate educational interests.  A school official is a person employed by the school as an ad­ministrator, supervisor, instructor, or support staff member (including health or medical staff and law enforcement unit personnel) or a person serving on the school board.  A school official also may include a volunteer or contractor outside of the school who performs an institutional service of function for which the school would otherwise use its own employees and who is under the direct control of the school with respect to the use and maintenance of PII from education records, such as an attorney, audi­tor, medical consultant, or therapist; a parent or student volunteering to serve on an official committee, such as a disciplinary or grievance committee; or a parent, student, or other volunteer assisting another school official in performing his or her tasks.  A school official has a legitimate educational interest if the official needs to review an educa­tion record in order to fulfill his or her professional responsibility.

    Also, upon request, the school discloses education records without consent to officials of another school district in which a student seeks or intends to enroll, or is already enrolled if the disclosure is for purposes of the student’s enrollment or transfer.
