As an Atlanta Public Schools graduate and an eleven-year educator in the district, I know the importance of a quality education created through effective teaching and positive relationships. In this first year as principal of Martin Luther King, Jr. MIddle School, I will cultivate a supportive learning environment and reinforce our school's standards, policies and goals. Promoting parental and community involvement and building partnerships with surrounding businesses are of the utmost importance here at King.

I believe that all children deserve a quality education, regardless of adverse obstacles. With parental support, highly qualified educators and community involvement, Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School will become one of the best middle schools  in the nation. While our primary focus is on increasing student achievement and meeting academic goals, my love for music, specifically jazz, has also fostered a personal and professional philosophy regarding the importance of arts education for young people.
 
With a mission of providing each student with the knowledge, skills and attitude to become a productive citizen in challenging, technological and diverse world, we are moving toward fulfilling our vision - a peaceful, productive and orderly learning environment that meets the academic, social and developmental needs of all of our students.
